Ultimate Serenity

The beautiful and excellent kiteboarding spot of Long Bay Beach lines the southern coast of this region. Private home and luxury rental villas are found on this beach, but the density is much lower than what is found at other popular beaches.

There are rocky patches on the western end of the beach, but overall the coast offers shallow turquoise water with a clean white sandy bottom.

Two miles off the coast is the wreck of the La Famille Express a ship that started life as Soviet oil rig service ship and later became a Dominican freighter. This ship was grounded on the shallows of the Caicos Banks during the 2004 Hurricane Frances, where it has been stuck ever since. It has become somewhat of a tourist attraction, and is visited by boat cruises and jet skies.

Activities on Turks and Caicos

La Famille express

Probably the most famous shipwreck in the Turks and Caicos, the Soviet oil rig service vessel turned Panama cargo ship La Famille Express is found about two miles of off Long Bay Beach on Providenciales.

Kiteboarding

Long Bay Beach is one of the best places in the region to learn to kite. The water here is clean, clear and shallow. Experienced riders will appreciate the expansive flat water off Caicos Islands.

Beach horseback riding

Providenciales has three small riding stables, each offering rides along the beautiful beaches of Providenciales.

Clear bottom kayaks

Kayaking is simple and easy way to explore the amazing waters of the Turks and Caicos. As one of the easiest water sports to learn, almost anyone can be paddling after a few minutes of practice.

Clear bottom paddle boards

Paddleboarding is easy to pick up and the best way to experience the mangrove wetlands and shallows. Due to the added height over the water compared to kayaking, you’ll get a much better view of wildlife in the water.

Jet-ski

Jet skis are an exciting way to spend an afternoon on the clear waters of the Turks and Caicos. There’s an incredible range of amazing places to discover, including uninhabited cays, secluded beaches, shipwrecks, and beautiful coastlines.
